The Ship and Lobster is known as the first and last pub on the Thames. It has changed its name several times, originally being The Ship, then The Chalk Wharf followed by The Lobster before finally becoming the ship and lobster in 1832. It is thought to be the place that is mentioned in the 'Great Expectations' as 'The Ship'
